What's up!

Summer holidays are finally here (actually they've been here a while already. It's just that I didn't feel like writing anything in this journal)! So much time ahead to go swimming, read, travel and draw! (I'm not sure I have the right to be so thrilled about all that, taking on account I'm starting college next year)

There are a few things I'd like to share with/tell/ask you:

1. First of all… Have you noticed every time you come to deviantART and browse the home page by "popular in the last 8 hours" there's…:

*…at least one photo of a half/completely naked woman? (I don't want to sound apocalyptic or to discredit any artist's creations or to look like I don't have a clue about understanding the beauty of the human body or nudity portraits or whatever, but I kind of get the feeling I'm being constantly reminded of how chauvinist our society still is! And how those stupid and ridiculous beauty canons follow me/us/everyone everywhere!)

*…a closeup of an eye, a cat, a water drop or a flower? (I'm not complaining about this fact. That kind of art really is very beautiful, usually)
*…a drawing you instantly think is too lame and can't help but question (God forgive me), how's even possible for such a piece to be getting so much attention???

2. I wrote this once but since I didn't get any replies I'm saying it again (even more now that I'm having plenty of free time). I you guys have any cool suggestions for a drawing or anything you'd like to see from me, just say it. I'm looking for inspiration and new ideas!

3. I'd also like to complain about something many of you have probably experienced too. And that's the fact that a lot of people just fave your work without even saying why! It's not like you can read people's minds to guess what they like or not about your art. If this is an international art community it's supposed to help artists from all over the world improve by sharing opinions and suggestions…  If it were up to me, I'd remove the possibility of faving and collecting if that'd mean you'd get people to actually tell you what impression your art has on them!

4. I got the feeling… (that tonight's gonna be a good night!) that I'm complaining too much already. So here's my last point: enjoy your holidays, go to the beach/swimming pool, spend time with your loved ones and don't burn any forests with your barbeque matches (we've had that several time on the islands).
